Small: For those who have lighter periods or who haven’t given birth yet. Dimensions: 58x30mm, holds 22 ml of liquid.
Large: For those who have heavier periods or who have given birth. Dimensions: 68x30mm, holds 42 ml of liquid.
How much fluid does a menstrual disc hold?
Small: holds 22 ml of liquid, holds around 6 regular tampons* worth of liquid.
Large: holds 42 ml of liquid, holds around 7 regular tampons* worth of liquid.
*Regular sized tampons hold around 5 ml of liquid.
How long will my menstrual disc last?
The Garnuu Menstrual Disc can last up to 10 years as long as you keep it clean and properly take care of it.
How do I clean my menstrual disc?
You can clean your Garnuu Menstrual disc in a few different ways:
1. Use a period disc cleanser
2. You can use a ph-balanced soap.
3. Make a vinegar solution to sanitize your cup
4. Boil your menstrual disc at the end of your menstrual cycle in hot water and a pan you’re comfortable using for 3-5 minutes.
5. Dry your menstrual disc completely before storing to avoid added bacteria.
How many hours can I wear a menstrual disc?
You can wear your Garnuu menstrual disc for up to 12 hours. Emptying it twice a day.
Can I have sex with a menstrual disc in?
Yes you can.
How do I insert a menstrual disc?
- Pinch the disc in half using your thumb and fingers, keeping the rim pinched together.
- Insert the disc rim-first, angling it slightly downward and back toward your tailbone, like you would a tampon.
- Push the disc back and tuck the front rim behind your pubic bone. The disc should sit horizontally inside your vaginal canal, just below your cervix.
- Make sure the disc is fully open and the entire rim is tucked behind your pubic bone. You shouldn't feel it once it's in place.
